Environmental consciousness has been growing for thirty years or more among architects. Advances in materials and design concepts have accelerated their interest, particularly in the last ten years or so. Now, the financial benefits of green design are becoming more apparent, making builders and owners more willing to embrace the movement. Green roofs, for example, are sprouting all over the United States. Why not put them at ground level?
